Faye, 5, battles snow and ice to reach the top of Ben Nevis

Faye Moffat, from Prestonpans in East Lothian, took on the difficult hike up Ben Nevis with her father, Craig, over the weekend. Despite facing a blizzard, she made it to the top and spent the night camping on the mountain. So far, Faye has raised over £1,000 for the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity (GCHC).

Craig expressed his pride in his daughter's determination: "She dealt with snow, ice, a blizzard at the peak, and a long, dark descent — but she never gave up."

He continued, "I'm incredibly proud of Faye for supporting such a worthy cause, and she's now learned how much difference we can all make."

Faye, who completed her first Munro without assistance last winter, has already shown a strong spirit of adventure and perseverance.

Before the climb, Faye shared her thoughts on their fundraising page: "This is going to be my hardest adventure. Daddy says if we don't give up, we can do anything, so I won't give up. Please help me raise pennies for the boys and girls who need help.

Starting their journey in the dark at 7:00 AM, Craig and Faye carried their camping gear with them. They set up camp halfway up the mountain before continuing through deep snow and strong winds. With crampons on their feet to tackle the icy terrain, they reached the summit in what Craig described as "extremely tough conditions" during a blizzard.

Their descent back to the camp was long and challenging, with heavy rain and the aid of headlamps to navigate through the darkness.

The duo took on this 10-hour challenge to raise funds for the GCHC, which supports over 500 children, babies, and young people each day.

Craig added, "The hospital does amazing work for children and families all across Scotland."

Faye explained the personal significance of the charity: "The charity helped my cousin Owen and my friend Lucy, who had heart surgery when she was born with half a heart, and she's now doing really well."

Faye concluded, "I want to raise pennies to help buy things to help children who aren't well."
